The 500kV Current-Limiting Reactor (CLR) system, supplied by PowerMore in collaboration with a European technology partner, has been successfully installed at the substation of Quang Trach 1 Thermal Power Plant.

Quang Trach 1 Thermal Power Plant, located in Quang Binh Province, plays an important role in supplementing generation capacity for Vietnam’s power system. Once in operation, the project will help meet the country’s growing electricity demand while enhancing the stability and security of the national energy system.
KEY ENERGIZATION MILESTONE
Successful energization of the 500kV transformer bay, a critical step in the project
At 01:22 AM on April 29, 2025, TOJI Group successfully completed the energization of the 500kV GSUT#1 transformer bay, together with the associated connection lines, during the back-energizing phase. This marked a significant technical milestone, representing a critical step forward in the project’s progress toward scheduled plant operation.
500kV SOLUTION PROVIDED BY POWERMORE
500kV current-limiting solution, European technology for transmission networks
Within the scope of the project, PowerMore supplied a 500kV Current-Limiting Reactor (CLR) solution, in collaboration with its technology partner Coil Innovation (Austria).
The 500kV CLR system provided by PowerMore has been installed and integrated at the substation of Quang Trach 1 Thermal Power Plant.
PowerMore’s technical team participated directly in the installation and inspection of the 500kV CLR equipment at the substation of Quang Trach 1 Thermal Power Plant.
The 500kV CLR solution is designed to:
Limit short-circuit currents in extra-high-voltage transmission systems,
Protect power transformers and primary electrical equipment,
Enhance the stability, safety, and reliability of the 500kV power grid.
The equipment has been successfully installed and integrated into the plant, fully meeting the stringent technical requirements of the national power transmission system.

The Quang Trach 1 Thermal Power Plant Project is invested by Vietnam Electricity (EVN) through Power Project Management Board No. 2 (EVNPMB2).
The project implementation involves the participation of specialized organizations, including PECC1, PTC2, and HDEC. Among them, TOJI Group is responsible for the supply and integrated installation of primary electrical equipment, transmission line structures, as well as the control and protection systems for the 500kV substation.
PowerMore’s technical team worked in close coordination with the relevant parties during the installation of the 500kV Current-Limiting Reactor (CLR) equipment at the substation of Quang Trach 1 Thermal Power Plant.
